2001 COLUMBIA VALLEY SYRAH

Winemaker Eric Dunham's third release of this variety clearly defines him as a master with Syrah. His 2000 version won Platinum a year ago, and the '01 is at least as good with its rich blackberry aromas with complex notes of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. The opulent flavors include deep, intense, driven dark fruit with underlying spice. Beautiful acidity gives this complete wine beautiful structure that makes it a Syrah to enjoy now or cellar for the long haul. Rated "Outstanding" in Wine Press NorthWest's Syrah judging.
