Texas Sheet Cake

TEXAS SHEET CAKE

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 sticks butter
• 1 cup water
• 4 Tablespoons cocoa
• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• ½ cup sour cream
• 2 eggs

FROSTING INGREDIENTS:

• 1 stick butter
• 6 Tablespoons milk
• 1 Tablespoon cocoa
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted

WINE PAIRING:

2009 Lewis Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

COOKI N G  I N S T R U C T I O N S :

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a cookie sheet. Mix cake ingredients until smooth. Spread on cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Start the frosting during the last 5 minutes of baking. Mix butter, milk and cocoa in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix well. Cool cake slightly and frost with hot frosting.

Before serving garnish with sifted powdered sugar.

Serves lots!
