Montana Ranch Cake

Ingredients:

8 Tablespoons cocoa
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 Tablespoons milk
1 lb. box powdered sugar

Directions:

In a large heavy pan combine 1 stick butter, 4 Tablespoons cocoa and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add flour, granulated sugar, salt and baking soda. Blend well. Stir in 2 eggs, buttermilk and 1 teaspoon soda.

Pour into greased and floured 17 X 11 inch pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees, or when the center springs back lightly to touch. Frost while still warm.

Frosting
Combine 1 stick butter, 4 Tablespoons cocoa and milk in a heavy sauce pan. Heat to boiling, stirring well. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth with a wooden spoon and spread on warm cake.
