When we conducted our first judging of Syrah in 1999, we had fewer than two dozen entries, primarily from Washington. By 2003, the number we judged increased to 103, and they came from every corner of the Northwest. This summer, we gathered Northwest Syrahs again and judged 129. The results showed the quality continues to rise with the numbers. Our panel awarded 17 "Outstanding" awards. Dunham Cellars 2003 Syrah, Columbia Valley and 2003 Lewis Vineyard Syrah, Columbia Valley both received "Outstanding" awards.....
