HOT NEWS FROM THE WINERY
Dunham Cellars is proud to announce the arrival of our new Winemaker, Dan Wampfler. Dan's philosophy is "Winemaking is science applied to art." A native of Michigan, Dan took his undergraduate and Master's degrees in enology from Michigan State University. He honed his skills at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Chateau Ste. Michelle's Canoe Ridge Winery, and Columbia Crest. Armed with a sense of humor and a desire to work in a closely-knit team environment, Dan strives to demonstrate his passion for wine in every bottle.
To keep up with the growing demands of running a quality winery Eric Dunham is moving up to become Director of Wine. Eric will continue to oversee all wine operations, and work closely with Dan to ensure consistency of the great Dunham wines you've come to know and love.
CRUISE WITH ERIC DUNHAM | APRIL 26-30
Eric Dunham will be participating as a featured winemaker in the upcoming Wines of Washington Pacific Coast Cruise with the Holland America Line. NOTES FROM THE VINEYARD
From Ken Hart, Vineyard Manager
We are proud to announce that our vineyards were recently awarded endorsement by the International Organization of Biological Control (IOBC). The IOBC is a Switzerland-based program focused on sustainable farming practices. We are delighted to be part of a very small handful of vineyards in Oregon and the Walla Walla Valley to hold this title. The endorsement comes after 3 years of inspection by LIVE Inc, in Oregon, with whom we are also certified for sustainable farming. Our vineyards have also received the Salmon Safe Endorsement, guaranteeing that our farming practices do not contribute to the pollution or silting of streams and rivers due to soil erosion and runoff water containing herbicides, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers.
