WINE CLUB RECEPTION
April 30 | 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Our special guest and good friend, Chef Mauro Golmarvi (owner of Assaggio Ristorante in Seattle) will prepare hearty special hors d’oeuvres for our evening guests. Signed copies of Mauro’s first cookbook will be available for purchase. We will also feature our new releases and selected current releases that we know you will enjoy. This is a private reception for our Wine Club Members. Members are welcome to bring guests for an additional $20/person (refundable if guests join Wine Club that evening).

We welcome you to visit our tulip filled winery and sample our newest releases. We will serve fresh hand-tossed pasta from our enormous Parmesan wheel bowl for you to enjoy while tasting wines and shopping in our gift shop.

BALLOON STAMPEDE WEEKEND
MAY 8 & 9 | 11:00 - 4:00 PM
This annual event is a beautiful tradition in the Walla Walla Valley. We will serve our current releases as colorful balloons fill the skies.

2008 Lewis Vineyard Riesling
Estate Bottled – Lewis Vineyard $22 Light orange peel, peach, pear and candied apple. Powdered sugar aromas with a touch of coconut. Great minerality; clean and crisp, yet full of body.

WINEMAKER’S UPDATES
Spring has sprung and the grape buds are nearly ready to begin the 2010 vintage… WOW, we can’t believe those words were just muttered. Having said that, the entire cellar team is more than happy waiting until September to see any grapes arrive on the crush pad (Chuckle Chuckle). The cellar team is hard at work racking the 2009 Cabernets, Merlots, Syrahs, and other varieties, completing the second rack of the year. Across the board, the 2009 vintage displays luscious, soft and vibrant characteristics, showing great promise. We are also diligently preparing the 2009 White wines (Lewis Riesling, Late Harvest Riesling, and Shirley Mays Chardonnay) for a mid-April bottling. Let us tell you, these are standout wines.
By far the most exciting news of spring is that we are planting our new vineyard, Kenny Hill (named after our vineyard manager, Ken Hart). The land has been prepped, the surveying done, and the vineyard is flagged. Our dormant grape plants arrived in perfect time to be placed in the fertile soil. Kenny Hill Vineyard will produce its first crop three vintages from now, and NONE of us can wait!
